What is Special about Kangaroo Kids?
Kangaroo Kids is a unique pediatric program dedicated to offering individualized and all-encompassing care to children and families who face life-threatening illness. It is based on the belief that children and families can thrive best when they're encouraged to care for their child at home, with resources and support to sustain a normal family life in every possible way.
An innovative program of Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care, Kangaroo Kids offers a constant, supportive presence to families; and tremendous peace of mind.
What is Pediatric Supportive Care?
Children with life-threatening illness are children, first and foremost. Kangaroo Kids team members recognize this and are sensitive to how they can support a child to be as much in his or her normal everyday life as possible.
They know that with their illnesses, kids need to feel they can control some things even while they can't control others. So they look for ways to support a child's independence. And Kangaroo Kids helps families address and manage the physical, psychological, social and spiritual aspects of the illness' impact on the child and family. From the beginning of the diagnosis, they become partners and develop deep relationships with the child and everyone in the family.
